Double Press
Standard Big Bale Cutter

The System The Standard Big Bale Cutter was developed to allow owners of  3-tie presses to process large bales. It can also be coordinated with our Big Bale Cut Down press.  In either case, the standard cutter can be arranged in-line with the press, with certain critical functions operable from either control panel.

Loading A fork truck operator places a one or two bales at a time onto the feed table. From there, a series of hydraulic arms feeds them sequentially into the cutter.

Twine Removal Twine is manually removed as the operator checks for hay quality and consistency.

Processing Each bale is halved horizontally, or quartered horizontally and vertically with a razor sharp blade, and the slabs are destacked on an infeed station, ready to be passed into the press.

Pressing The Standard Cutter is designed to be coordinated with Double Press presses, but may also utilize other manufacturers' presses.

Control The cutter is controlled by the cutter operator via the control panel. As with other Double Press machines, the primary mode is "Auto Start". Each of the eight steps can be manually controlled, making set-up and maintenance an orderly and repeatable process that can be completed by a trained employee.

What's In It For You? The Standard Big Bale Cutter is an economical front end that adds big bale capability to your operation. It can be coordinated to operate in-line with our 3-tie press. (compare High Volume Big Bale Cutter)
