High Volume Big Bale Cutter

The System The High Volume Big Bale Cutter is fully integrated with one of our presses. and the cutter and the press operated from a single control panel with integrated software control.

Once a load of bales is placed on the feed station platform the process is fully automatic, from removal of the twine to slicing, separating slabs, and feeding hay onto the press. (Click on photos for larger views.)

 


 

Loading A squeeze operator places a load of up to 18 bales onto the feed station. From there, a series of hydraulic arms separates and feeds each bale sequentially into the cutter. A single operator can place enough product onto the feed station for approximately 20 minutes of operation.

Automatic Twine Removal As each bale is fed into the cutter the twine is cut and a pivoting arm removes it, swinging it away from the cutter and depositing it into a receptacle for removal and recycling.

Processing Each bale is either halved horizontally, or quartered horizontally and vertically with a razor sharp blade, and the slabs are destacked on an infeed station, ready to be fed into the press.

Pressing The high volume cutter is designed to be fully integrated into Double Press presses, but may also be coordinated with other manufacturers' presses.

Control The High Volume cutter and a Double Press press are fully integrated into a single control panel monitored by the press operator. As with other Double Press machines, the primary mode is "Auto Start". Each step can be manually controlled, making set-up and maintenance an orderly and repeatable process that can be completed by a trained employee.

Specifications

Speed: 20-25 tons per hour, depending on the product.

Control System: Computerized control with direct communication to the Press computer system for fully integrated operation. Full manual operation is also possible via the single Control Panel.

Power Requirements: One 480VAC, 3-phase 200 amp circuits for the single 125 horsepower motor and one 120VAC, single phase, 20 amp control power circuit.
