Double Press
Big Bale Cut Down Press

The System The Big Bale Cut Down Press is a all-in-one high volume press designed for large bales.  It can load up to eighteen 3' x 4' bales in the feed station and process 20-25 tons per hour in continuous operation. Once a load of bales is placed on the feed station platform the process is fully automatic, from removal of the twine to slicing, pressing,  weighing, strapping, and accumulating.

With the Double 3-tie option installed, the same press can process 3-tie bales two at a time, for a truly flexible, high-volume system,

Loading A squeeze operator places a load of six bales onto the feed station. From there, a series of hydraulic arms separates and feeds each bale sequentially into the cutter. A single squeeze operator can place enough product into the feed station for approximately 20 minutes of operation.

Automatic Twine Removal As each bale is fed into the cutter the twine is cut and a pivoting arm removes it, swinging it away from the cutter and depositing it into a receptacle for removal and recycling.

Processing Each bale is cut down horizontally with a razor sharp blade, and the slabs are destacked on an infeed station, ready to be fed into the press.

the cut down cylinder

Two 300-hp motors supply power to three compression cylinders

Weighing Prior to compression the hay passes over an infeed scale that selects a predetermined amount of product to be compressed.

Press The bales are compressed with an 8 inch cylinder (speed) and two 14 inch cylinders (power). Compression is supplied through two 300 horsepower electric motors capable of generating nearly 3600 psi. The result is a 20" bale.

Strapper The compressed, full-weight bales travel through a strapping station that adds 8 or 12 high strength plastic straps.

Check Weigh Scale The compressed bales are conveyed onto an electronic  scale that automatically recalibrates the infeed scale for optimum consistency. A digital readout is also provided to the operator.

Slicer It's now a simple matter to slice the compressed bales between the straps to generate 3-tie bales or half-cut bales that pass to the accumulator.

Accumulator Bales can be accumulated in rows of
2,3,4 or 5.

Control The system is controlled by the press operator via the control panel. As with other Double Press machines, the primary mode is "Auto Start". Each of the 35 steps can be manually controlled, making set-up and maintenance an orderly and repeatable process that can be completed by a trained employee.

Additional Features The Big Bale Cut Down Press can be integrated with the Automatic Wrap System (AWS) for even further efficiency, precision, and savings in labor.

Option: The Big Bale Cut Down Press is specifically designed to be integrated with a Double 3-tie feed station to allow processing of either big bales or 3-tie bales with the flip of a switch.

What's In It For You? With only a squeeze operator to feed the system, a press operator and a clamp operator to take away the finished product, the Big Bale Cut Down Press provides an efficient, high volume solution to processing big bales.
