Double 3-Tie Press

The System The Double 3-tie Press is a completely different system than our standard 3-tie/2-tie press. Incorporating more powerful compression capabilities as well as a feed mechanism that can feed two bales at once, the Double 3-tie press is a high-volume workhorse with some unique features. (We need a "for example" here.)

In addition, the Double 3-tie press is designed to be integrated with a Big Bale Cutting System that can automatically process big bales by slicing them horizontally before feeding through the press. With this option, either 3-tie bales or big bales can be processed as simply as flipping a switch.

Loading Standard 3-tie bales  are fed into the machine by through a destacker. As the destacked bales are oriented an operator manually cuts the twine and inspects the hay for product quality.

Paddles automatically collect two bales at once from the scaler/loader and fed into the press.

Processing Cycle The Double Press 3-Tie Press will process 8+ bales per minute, depending on the product being processed. Pressure of 3600 psi is generated by two 300HP electric motors and a 3500 gallon hydraulic reservoir, coupled with two 14" hydraulic cylinders to press the bale to approximately 20".

Press The bales are compressed with an 8 inch cylinder (speed) and two 14 inch cylinders (power). Compression is supplied through two 300 horsepower electric motors capable of generating nearly 3600 psi. The result is a 20" bale.

Strapper The compressed, full-weight bales travel through a restrapping station that adds 8 or 12 high strength plastic straps.

Check Weigh Scale The compressed bales are conveyed onto an electronic  scale that automatically recalibrates the infeed scale for optimum consistency. A digital readout is also provided to the operator.

Slicer It's now a simple matter to slice the compressed bales between the straps to generate 3-tie bales or half-cut bales that pass to the accumulator.

Accumulator Bales can be accumulated in rows of
2,3,4 or 5.

Control The system is controlled by the press operator via the control panel. As with other Double Press machines, the primary mode is "Auto Start". Each step can be manually controlled, making set-up and maintenance an orderly and repeatable process that can be completed by a trained employee.

Additional Features The Double 3-tie Press is specifically designed to be integrated with a Big Bale Cut Down Cutter to provide a dual-purpose machine that can process either 3-tie bales or big bales through the same press.
